Spooner Farms

Our Sunday adventure was to Spooner Farms. My co-worker recommended it becuase it was pretty much free accept for a few attractions. Normally you have to pay $10-12 just to get into the pumpkin patches around here. Once we pulled in there were rows and rows and rows of pumpkins. A corn maze. An animal barn. Lots of fun stuff and many great photo spots. Unfortunately today Maci Jo wasn't up for pictures. It was difficult for me to even capture the moments I did. So we're going to take a break from mommy's photo obsession so that she'll be raring to go when our professional family photo session comes. We got 3 pumpkins. I just realized I didn't take a photo of them, but will share them when I post my fall porch set up.

Thanks for stopping by!

We got lost and this was our view

We finally talked her into being silly

Fall photo day

Now that it's fall...the lighting is less harsh and the colors are so beautiful. I have become more excited and motivated to learn more about my camera and fancy lens' that I spend so much of my money on! Today I took my daughter to a local park thats...umm "ok" for the scenery. The plus is there are also toys she can play on. Bonus for the bribery. She did pretty good looking at the camera. The best I could expect from a 3 year old. But after a some odd/scary encounters with crazy geese, their poop, a very explicit group of confrontation grunge teens we got these photos.

I of course held up my part of the bargain (even though it was past dinner time) and let Maci play on the toys. Before we started we made a pinky promise to listen to mommy and when it's time to go, it's time to go. She has been a very good listener lately and I felt that she'd hold up her "pinky promise" Boy was I every wrong. I ended up having to take her out kicking and screaming. In front of 30 kids and parents. That's always fun. And then I look over to see a photographer that we know from events and such. So it wasn't embarrassing at all. Nope I feel great!

It gets more exciting every time...

I am a subscriber to the STUDIO CALICO scrapbook and project life kits. They also offer an amazing card kit as well. Now I am in trouble...I don't normally make cards. In fact I find it to be more of a chore than anything. Recently with my scraps from my kits I have been sort of, impressing myself with some cards. Funny sounding? So there is a card challenge and I am going to enter ALL of them!! So wish me luck because there are some amazing prizes up for grabs and of course some very stiff competition!

Oh and did I mention that my new kit will be here soon?!!!!! Hence the title to this post. But really I have been a loooonnnggg time subscriber to SC and I just can never get enough! They have amazing customer service and products to boot!If you aren't on their monthly kit list yet...I would seriously recommend you go check it out.

I see my kit right here...

Card making

I have been on a roll with making cards. Cards that I love too!!! Here are a couple I have made in the past few days.

I cut down some watercolor paper and did the ombre effect on the that and then adhered it to the craft. I used a Maggie Holmes die cut, Thickers, and some twine by Maya Road.

I used my gelato s on this background. Cut a square piece of burlap and cut out a tag and used an office holes punch protector sticker. The wood veneer is from Freckle Fawn and the lace trim is from Hobby Lobby.

Family photos

We had some family photos done back in May. It was a muggy overcast, damp kind of day. My bangs were always in my face and all our daughter wanted to do was run around with Cousin Carter. So it was hard to get some good shots. There was one particular shot that I really wanted with my daughter and that was her kissing my cheek. She finally did it and the photographer wasn't paying attention and missed it! So I was bummed. But here are a few from that day.
