Card making

I have been on a roll with making cards. Cards that I love too!!! Here are a couple I have made in the past few days.

I cut down some watercolor paper and did the ombre effect on the that and then adhered it to the craft. I used a Maggie Holmes die cut, Thickers, and some twine by Maya Road.

I used my gelato s on this background. Cut a square piece of burlap and cut out a tag and used an office holes punch protector sticker. The wood veneer is from Freckle Fawn and the lace trim is from Hobby Lobby.

Family photos

We had some family photos done back in May. It was a muggy overcast, damp kind of day. My bangs were always in my face and all our daughter wanted to do was run around with Cousin Carter. So it was hard to get some good shots. There was one particular shot that I really wanted with my daughter and that was her kissing my cheek. She finally did it and the photographer wasn't paying attention and missed it! So I was bummed. But here are a few from that day.

Summer FUN activity!

I am so excited about this project! Now that is summer time I wanted to come up with a unique and very interactive fun activity for my daughter and I to do and be excited about together. My daughter is only 3 (almost) and she is still learning how this activity works. It is more of a routine for her. Knowing that we get to pick a fun stick and then go do what it says. I hope this will be a summer tradition for us.
Materials are from Michaels, American Crafts, Pebbles and Hobby Lobby.
On the sticks (there are 25) a different activity. Each day Mommy has off work Maci will get to pick her fun activity! Cute right?!

Here are the ten examples.

1. Go on an adventure
2. Bake some cookies
3. Watch Gangnam Style (she LOVES that video?)
4. Get a cake pop
5. Watch a new movie
6. Go to the park
7. Paint with our fingers
8. Play dress up
9. Bubble time
10. Decorate rocks

Hello SUMMER

A couple of days ago was the first day of summer and what is more fun than making a mini album to kick off the summer!! Lately I have been making albums that are a work in progress. Such as this one which I will add to it throughout the summer. We will also be leaving for our very first family vacation to Chelan, WA. We are beyond thrilled to be taking this trip! Of course I want to scrapbook while we're there so ill have to get busy on making up a little "on-the-go" mini book.

I made this mini using my bind-it-all and  mostly Glitz Design papers inside.

Feeling ICKY

Had my bottom wisdom teeth pulled on Thursday. Recovery was going smooth until the evening on the second day. I had prepared a yummy crockpot dinner that I was hoping even I could eat. I remember we were just about to sit down to eat, I turned around and tried to look at my husband. When I could only see out of one of my eyes. I knew right then I was getting a migraine. I ran quickly to grab my prescription migraine medicine, hoping that I caught it in time. I think mixed with my other meds that it was just hopeless and bound to be a painful night! I managed to get some food down me and than ran upstairs to lay down. Within a few hours I felt we'll enough to sit up, but not for very long. The next day (third day recovering from surgery) I felt even worse. My head was throbbing, no energy, my face had swelled up even more and I was extremely nauseous. Now, with having an extra day to rest. I am feeling much better and I am eager to return to work and work these next few days before my vacation. This experience however benign it is. I am so grateful for my health and my families health. I can't imagine going through serious health problems emotionally and  financially.

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy DAD'S Day to all those amazing dads out there!! So blessed for my daughter to have such an amazing daddy!! She loves him so much!

My dad has saved my life! I'm so happy to have such an incredible person in my life!

Each day that passes I become more grateful to know this man! He has been my greatest role model. I strive each day to make him proud! Love you daddy!!!

Father's Day cards

I really enjoy making cards using my Silhouette Cameo. I just buy the template and I can pretty much just decorate it. My favorite part!!! I made a card for my husband and his father. Enclosed is an instax photo of my daughter and a little drawing of her hand and her own doodles. I used a paper clip to keep it all in there.

Playing Catch Up

It has taken me a bit to get these pages uploaded, but I am knocking it out tonight! I have been super excited to share these layouts because I have tried new things here.

I am so in love with the alpha wood veneers by Studio Calico! It has been hard for me to use them because I am scared to run out! What's new there though? I used my Sihllouette to cut out the cardstock phrase. I planned on using it in PL, but it worked on this page. I also stamped the hearts and traced around a few while also free handing the small ones. I love the dark back ground with the white.

I haven't really documented any of our trips to Arizona lately. Not sure why I am stashing it away either. With this layout I took a different approach to the way I scrapbooked one night. I opened my drawer of random photos and the first one I grabbed was the one I was going to use. From there I built my embellishments around the photo. This the was final outcome. It actually worked well. Sometimes if I play that game it can really turn me off to the craft. Then I just end up in my craft room watching YouTube videos or surfing blogs. Which that works too. Still time well spent in my book!

I cannot WAIT!!

I did it. I ordered the Canon Selphy. It is wireless and I found an awesome tutorial on YouTube from Omgits. You can watch it here. I am in my second year of doing Project Life and I love to add mini photos to my smash books and mini albums. So this is the PERFECT printer to have. It will work wirelessly with my iPhone and I can have it in my scraproom! Currently my iMac, printer and Silhouette are downstairs which is SOOOoooo not convenient for my crafting, but this will help!!! I can print my Instagram prints and 4x3 prints here also!! But I still go through Persnickety Prints because they are amazing. This is just the most convenient way to go!

I will review it in another post as soon as I can get it out of the box and up and running!!

Water+COLOR=amazing

I am in love with painting. It has always been hard for me to enjoy it simply because It has always been hard for me to "get it right" Now that I just paint color onto paper I am really liking LOVING it!! I have played around with gelato's and regular water color paints. I cannot get enough!!
